How does S.T.A.R.T. stand out from ALICE or other school safety trainings?

S.T.A.R.T. differs from ALICE and other school safety training programs as all other programs you may have heard of are designed to protect students for the duration of time they spend on the school campus. These programs leverage security features exclusive to this environment, such as lockable class rooms where students can hide, items that can be used to barricade or fight with, and a plethera of trained teachers and school resource officers who can control the situation and call for backup. On a school bus none of those assets are available. Bus drivers need to be trained to work with the tools they have at their disposal, not sit through training that doesn't apply to them.

Why is scenario based training so important?
At S.T.A.R.T. we like to say "The mind will only go where the body has been." Scenario based training is critical as it creates productive stress to place your mind in fight or flight mode. Learning how to respond dynamically to active threats is critical for training
